Industry 4.0 - Production and OEE data collection
Industry 4.0 is all about making factories smarter with digital technology, it means using things like automation and artificial intelligence to improve how products are made. This helps factories run better, make decisions faster, and use resources more efficiently. The goal is to make manufacturing easier, greener, and more competitive.
Our client tasked us with enhancing their production line efficiency by implementing a comprehensive data collection and analysis system. This system aimed to gather Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data from each line's endpoint, facilitating daily throughput mapping for the company. To achieve this, we developed a production stoppage logging system, meticulously tracking downtime causes and durations, stored in an internal database for analysis.
Optimisation
Encore Engineering provided access to the internal database, which allowed clients to gain insights into production line performance, enabling proactive interventions to minimise downtime and maximise productivity. This data-driven approach not only improved equipment effectiveness but also streamlined workflows, contributing to cost savings. Furthermore, we integrated a camera vision system to ensure accurate labelling of products and real-time tracking of production speed.
Camera Vision System
The camera vision system not only bolstered quality control efforts, but also provided actionable insights into production throughput and efficiency. By monitoring production pace and identifying bottlenecks, our client could make data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency. Collaborating with the Continuous Improvement department, we utilised this data to drive ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and optimising resource utilisation.

By integrating production stoppage logging, database management, and camera vision systems, we've enabled proactive decision-making and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
